Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) manages wildlife populations on more than 75 million acres of land and water for the benefit of all Floridians. This includes protecting endangered species, conserving fish, game, and habitat, and promoting public awareness about our natural resources.
Hunting is one of Florida's most popular activities and supports a thriving industry that employs thousands of people. Hunting also provides an important source of revenue for the state by charging fees for permits and selling meat at market prices.
There are five broad zones used to classify hunting properties in Florida. Zones A, B, and C are open to hunting with a license; zone D is closed to hunting. If you buy a property in zone C, then hunting is available during archery and crossbow season only. No hunting is allowed during muzzleloader season or the trap shooting season which starts on the third Saturday in November and ends on the first Sunday in January.
Zone C covers half of Florida. There are eight regional offices that manage wildlife management areas within their region.

Illinois is a big place, so it's important to know how to hunt deer. Whether you're looking to take advantage of one of Illinois' many hunting seasons or want to go out on your own, these pages will help you find the information you need to be a successful hunter.
Finding out the dates for Illinois' deer seasons can be done three different ways: through a website, by calling in advance, or by checking the Illinois DNR calendar.
Most states have their annual deer hunting seasons posted online. The dates for those seasons can usually be found on state websites, along with other useful information like bag limits and requirements for special permits. It's easy to miss some details online, though; if you read about a season that isn't right for you location-wise, call or email the department responsible for that area to make sure its still going on.
Seasonal dates differ by zone. Visit the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission website: North Carolina Deer Seasons for additional information on individual season start and finish dates in your region.

Missouri's big game laws are managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). They can be found under Title 57, Chapter 1, of the Missouri Revised Statutes.
The MDC website has a great section on how and when to hunt different species of wildlife. It includes information on regulations as well as an interactive map that shows where and when each season is open. This tool is helpful for those trying to decide if now is a good time to go hunting or not. Visit www.mdc.mo.gov/hunting to view this page.
